Constituency Report 2017

Whilst the National Result was not what any of us had hoped for, we should remember that the Conservative Party gained its highest share of the vote (42.4%) since 1983.

We are in any case delighted with the outcome in the Braintree constituency.

We are delighted that Diana Garrod was elected as the Braintree District Councillor for Bumpstead Ward. 

Thank you to everyone who helped with her campaign, which saw her elected with 64.5% of the votes. 

It is anticipated that there will shortly be a vacancy for the Bumpstead Ward on BDC.  The ward comprises the villages of Steeple and Helions Bumpstead, Birdbrook and Sturmer.

Today is polling day for the 2015 General Election and it is crucial that you go out and vote Conservative in Braintree.

On Thursday you will get the chance to vote in the most important election in a generation.

Figures released this week show that 1,174 fewer people in the Braintree constituency are claiming Jobseeker's Allowance compared to 2010, a 61% drop.

Last week David Cameron launched the Conservative Party's manifesto and set out our commitments to the British people for the next five years

James Cleverly has been campaigning right across the constituency to meet residents and listen to their views.
